Those are Curt's. He is member Cholt. He just posted in the model 19 thread going here now.It says local pick up,but i wouldn't mind owning them either.

Yes it is a pity that USPS, UPS charges a fortune to ship things and they may damage them as well. That is why they are local pick up or I can drive them to a shipper. I did this with an 803 tar filled horn, what a surprise when the buyer said it was severely damaged in transport....This is why I do not want to assume any risk in shipping these large items. Perhaps someone on this board could suggest a reliable and cost effective way to ship these large heavy pieces, I have one person I trust, but in the US only mate! By the way, the 8184s and 8182s that I have are in great shape and move a lot of air, I just have too much altec stuff!

Do you have a craters & freighters near you Curt ? Or any other shipping/packers that can crate them up for you ? If you can put them on a pallet I would recommend shipping them frieght and not UPS or post office.. I got a pair of 612C's and 604-8G's like that without a scratch, here's a photo of the pallet.It was covered with cardboard all sides then plywood and then plastic... They arrived safely by frieght for $250 and traveled about 1000 miles IIRC.
